We had roast beef and salmon, was great!! Fast and friendly service.. smaller dine in area, so you need to eat and go !!! No parking, so get creative and find one on the street!!!

Rays cafe always has best steak to eat but for our first time dining in, we received free popsicles for our 2 year old son. The staff split the chicken cutlet to two plates instead of one so that was super nice of them so that we could all eat same time. Ambiance is hole in the wall vibes which is always the best Hawai'i food place to eat at. My mother in law had fried chicken but I didn't wanna take pic of her food lol. My fave about this place is they had a spot to wash hands at so my hubby was able to wash his hands to roll rice into small rice balls for our son and after first popsicle, our son got to wash hands.

Small whole in-the-wall place. Small eating area, friendly staff, super busy, and great food

Yes it's in the hood but the food is so good 1/3 of the price compared to sit down restaurant Service was good, just call ahead You can sit down and eat however not a four star restaurant Ambiance, what ambiance it's a hole in the wall place and be respectful to the mom and pop shop

First off, I have to open up my review by saying this, if your in search for a cleanse fine dining establishments, Rays is not for you, so don't be leaving a review as if your expecting it to be one. It's in Kalihi, you're in the hood. A hood I can proudly say where I grew up. That being said this Old school GEM, hole in the wall one may say is nothing but the best! I love the food, exp the prices and large mount. For me, my personal go to is the Lamb, prime rib and steak, I've pretty much tried everyone except the oxtail. I gave them a 5 star because of the food and prices outweigh whatever appearance you see. On top of that, they have an awesome kind owner, who always worries about his customers.

Lunch... Came here on a Sunday with Scott G. I can't believe I have never tried this place. The owner, Ray, is such a nice person. It is a hole-in-a-wall, cash only restaurant with a few tables. We were able to sit down and enjoy our meal there. I had the chicken cutlet with gravy, mac salad and rice which was only $10. That is such a deal for Oahu. The taste was okay. Scott G had the fried chicken wings. Of course I had to try one wing. It was delicious. So many people came in and ordered the prime rib (which I heard was good - only $25 for a huge piece).

Redemption yesterday as I returned after more than a year. This time the plate I ordered was the daily special in the hamburger steak and fried chicken mix. It was Ono and my belly was satisfied! It was slow when I went at about 3:30 in the afternoon but the food quality was excellent and the price of $14 was still very reasonable.

Amazing value for the food you get at this small place in Kalihi! I got the grilled hamachi special of the day which came with a big piece of fish. I had enough to make two meals out of it. I was shocked when I saw how big the piece of fish was and it was of a good thickness too! There are a few tables inside so a lot of people do takeout. Parking is just on the street so you have to hunt around and may have to walk a bit. That is the only downside, otherwise the food is good with reasonable prices. Definitely one of those hole in the wall gems. The workers are friendly and efficient trying to get out orders as quickly as possible.

Okay so this place is just WOW! First of all, their portions are HUGE!!!! worth every penny! For under $20 and your food comes out the size of your plate, yessss!!!! They are located in the heart of kalihi right on north king street across of central pacific bank. The only downside is parking!!! Super hard to find parking because they are located on the street area so parking is first come first serve. I would def recommend to come with someone so they can drive around the block while you get your food. However if you do plan to eat there, they do have seating inside to enjoy your food. Very limited because the place is not that big. The food is sooo good!! Get their fried chicken!!!! Just do it! Super crunchy and soft inside with ALOT of flavor. Today I got their special which was the mahi mahi and wow! So soft and tasty! and my bf got their pork chops which was soft and flavorful. I am definitely going back to try more because this meal did not disappoint

Look at this food: Ham Hocks with Black ice peas Perfectly cooked & delicious!! Generous portion! Fried Chicken Plate: 3 meaty thighs, fried in a tasty batter , 2 scoops white rice & toss or Macaroni salad. I can love eating at Ray's , you may have to wait awhile for you food. but it's sure worth the wait!
